Veterans Heritage Learning Center

Veteran Heritage Learning Center - East view

Veterans Heritage Learning Center

The Center is open to the public. We currently have several static exhibits depicting New Hampshire's military heritage from the late 17th century to the present day. Our feature exhibits include:

  • A Congressional Medal of Honor wall - featuring plates denoting each of the New Hampshire recipients of the Medal of Honor. There is also a reference binder with lithographs, photos, and citations for each of the MoH recipients.

  • Presentation audio-video video theater to view the cemetery documentary, any video, or presentations connected wirelessly through a laptop for teachers & students.

  • Local Heroes - 14 standing kiosks that feature a synopsis and photo of men & women from New Hampshire who served our nation with distinction.

  • The "Stories of Service" kiosk is a touchscreen computer that allows you to capture and share the service information and stories of your loved one who served in the military, even if they are not buried at the NH State Veterans Cemetery. You can also use the tabletop scanner to scan in items like medals, personal memorabilia, and documents related to your veteran's story, which will be included in their record. This device is publicly accessible to anyone who wishes to research New Hampshire veterans. When you visit the cemetery, bring your memorabilia and records of service to add your or your loved one's information into the system. You can also go to www.vhlc.org and click on the Bio Form banner to enter your loved one's service information and submit pictures. Help us to memorialize your veteran's service and provide a legacy of their stories for generations to come!

  • Interactive kiosks (WWI through current operations) that tell the story of New Hampshire's military and veterans with engaging photos, games, and quizzes to test your knowledge!
